The performance begins with an unexpected entrance of the Night Watch guards, moving through the audience and creating an immediate sense of surprise.

Moving through the audience, the guards make subtle contact with guests before gathering on stage or within a theatrical frame that resembles the original painting.
A dramatic drumroll builds anticipation before powerful orchestral music takes over.
Then the announcement is made: “Ladies and gentlemen, especially for you the guards of Rembrandt van Rijn have travelled from the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam… we proudly present to you — The Night Watch, alive!”
In a spectacular final moment, the performers recreate the famous composition of the painting in a living tableau.
